Default Use Linux mail servers with Enkompass

One of the most requested features from our customers is to have their mail services and webmail in Linux (+cpanel) servers. Its much safer, more configurable and best of all, more stable.

We are doing it right now manualy (set their mail to one of our cpanel/linux servers), but we want to see it automatically in enkompass.

If this happen, we'll gladly switch all our windows (around 10 servers) to enkompass.

    Root Administrator

    Question

Automatically change the MX records on account creation to point to the other server?

On a side note, SmarterMail is a really nice webmail client, IMO.

on +1000 mailboxes settings which we have now on all servers, its insane to have smartermail for more than $500 each server basis. also its security and stability is far beyond linux mail services...

What about MailEnable Enterprise? Is that not a contender?

we have mailenable pro and ent. by default. but they are much more system resource eater than their competitor. specially its .net web backend.

mail enable standard is a masterpice capable of sending more than 90 emails per second. it also have many good security features such as PTR support, catch all disabler, Ip deny functions, and many many others, it is easy to use and integrate it to the control panel

the down part is that imap is not supported at the free standard version of mail enable,

it also had suffered many exploits but today it seems to have all bondary errors corrected by their softhouse and seem to be safe now.

dispate of mailenable been a good mailserver, it cannot be compared to exim especially taking about spamassassin support and integration

in the other hand you can use it single thread mode and use the free version of Mxscan (will filter 2 messages per second)

but if you have a high usage mail server you may need to expend money at paid licenses for both softwares

so this feature is very desirable

i would like a lot to have my windows servers using a cpanel linux mail server

    that would be great...

    thanks

In my opinion, mailenable suffer stability and security it requires in live industry. We have been hit many times with its exploits, that onetime as I remember it allow a very bad virus to be injected to server and run flawlessly. I know the team has released a patch soon, but it has damaged many user's data by that time. We've seen many security holes since in mailenable that we don't want to use it anymore.

Right now, we have setup win 2008 servers with mail on cpanel, and it satisfied all our customers, but the creation is going to be only by scripts we have wrote ourselves to use automated account creations for mailserver over centos+cpanel.
