    Default AWStats 6.95?

I currently have Awstats 6.9 on my server but would like to upgrade it to the latest version 6.95, how would I do that exactly for cpanel?

Thank you for bringing this new version to attention; the feature request to update AWStats is currently being tracked in an internal case ID #34846.

To monitor when this is available I recommend periodically checking the cPanel change log for your cPanel build (e.g., STABLE, RELEASE, CURRENT, EDGE) via the following link:

    Question Update awstats?

The current AWstats within cpanel is version 6.9 (build 1.925) released 28 Dec 2008.

The last stable version is 6.95, released 25 Oct 2009.

Could you please update the current AWstats to the latest AWstats?

    Thank you infopro.

I see that the other topic is approximately 3 months old. Do you know what the status is of internal case ID #34846?

No, sorry I don't. The developers keep an eye on this forum though as I understand it, so your post is in the right place.

The request is known as indicated in my original reply posted to the other thread in October.

So any indication of when we can expect it in cpanel?

At this time I do not have information available regarding an ETA. On behalf of those requesting the update for AWStats I have added a note in the internal case indicating growing interest to have the new version included.

I hope this is updated soon for Cpanel, its becoming some what of a serious issue for some of my clients as the stats are not being shown correctly when it comes to the Bing search engine.

The 6.9 version doesn't know what Bing is and treats it just as another site referring traffic rather than a search engine. The 6.95 version corrects this problem as well as other minor issues.

The lasttime cpanel updates awstats it took months and several requests. If you look at Bugzilla, it takes 8 tot 14 months for cPanel to upgrade Awstats. So based on that, I expect the 6.95 - 2009-10-25 release version to be in cPanel around May or June.

By that time 6.95 will be outdated! Because the 6.96 version also detects Windows 7 and the 6.97 version will probably have better detection of mobile browsers.

Yes, you can do it manually, but you have to redo it with every update!
