Default Load Balancing, Separating Services, Better Backup

    Hey All.

    Load Balancing
If I have three web servers, it would be nice if I could use these in a load-balanced way. Rather than having to have them completely separated.

    Separating Services
Would be nice to be able to do what you've already done for DNS; separate Email server so that it's on a completely different box(es).

    Better Backup
The current backup system is pretty naff. It works, don't get me wrong. But it's clunky and limited. I currently have it tunneling to another server and doing incremental backups.

Something a bit more user friendly would be nice, but obviously workable too

Join the club Load balancing has been requested for a longggg time. There have been a few people hack it in over the years. Enkompass can do this already, albeit in windows.

You can also do a separate MySQL server.

Please don't put multiple feature requests into a single thread. Separate each request into its own thread.

What annoys me here, Kenneth, is I've gone out of my way to highlight some really useful features that could make cPanel better, and the only response I've had from cPanel is a telling off for including them in one thread? Is this really the way cPanel is going now?

I apologize for the confusion; please note that we ask to post only one request per feature request thread as this ensures multiple benefits for everyone using the forums, including but not limited to the following: (1) organized discussion, (2) dedicated attention to each unique request, (3) reduced confusion by not intermingling multiple topics into a single thread of discussion, (4) ease of locating and learning about a specific feature request with relevant, on-topic feedback, (5) ease of reading and adding input to the discussion of pros and cons of each request in a thread relevant to a single topic, and (6) substantially increased visibility per unique feature request thereby furthering the possibility of and potential for its future implementation.

We value all input received and ask this to help ensure the best experience for everyone. Thank you for your understanding; it is greatly appreciated.

Then why not take some initiative and hit that "split" button in the forum mod area?

Customer has made some suggestions to try and help you improve the product you are selling. Instead of telling him off for not obeying your forum "rules", why not just split this thread into the three forum topics you obviously think are needed?

Wouldn't that be easier and quicker then pissing off your customer, and then having this thread ignored by your staff because it doesn't fit your rules?

Customer service can be pro-active, too, you know?

    My thoughts exactly.

In a way, all three suggestions are pretty similar anyway - load balancing for when web servers have been separated and as a result, better backup options.

I've done as they requested though, and made a paragraph of text span over three separate forum threads. Logical?
