    Well, I come here half year later and it's still not available as GA.

    Good job.

    I would recommend evaluating this functionality on a spare server running the EDGE update tier. This is where we gather public feedback about implementation so we can make final adjustments prior to pushing new/updated functionality like this out to the production tiers.

    Those using EDGE are welcomed to join the edge-users@cpanel.net mailing list to provide their feedback on EDGE builds via Edge-Users Info Page

    We do not develop on a timeline, we release product when it meets quality guidelines. That said, I've been given a timeline measured in weeks rather than months with regards to propagation to CURRENT.

    Great news ! Will be looking forward to this, Thanks

    One of the reasons why we love cPanel is that we are not used as guinea pigs (unless we want to) ! We prefer to have a stable product and no hassle than to have faster updates and lots of bugs.

    Just a quick note to warn users who are thinking about migrating from MySQL 5.1 to 5.5… There seem to be quite a few scripts that are still used by a large number of sites that are not 100% compatible with MySQL 5.5. We will defenitly be installing MySQL 5.5 on any new servers but will be sticking with MySQL 5.1 on servers that already have 5.1

    Here's the first one I found after a few searches :

    Joomla 1.5.x :
    Joomla! • View topic - Joomla 1.5.17 and earlier and MySQL 5.5.x

    That is to be expected honestly and Joomla 1.5 is quite old so I would push clients who use it to upgrade.

    Yes, I agree but I also hoped that their would be mainly new functions and no changes to old ones, and I hate Joomla because it looks easy so beginners choose it and then don't have the first clue about how to upgrade. Sadly lots of Joomla modules are still in 1.5 version and almost all are quite far from the 2.5 version. A few months ago people were saying stick with joomla 1.5, don't install joomla 1.7 yet. We can't force our customers who followed this "bad" advace to upgrade this quickly… nor is it easy enough (rewriting templates takes time) for us to do this for our customers.

    I reason why I said this is that on the New features page cPanel 11.32 it seems that cPanel offers a migration procedure that will make the migration easy…

    Joomla is just one example that should help people think twice about updating mysql on a production server full of sites that they do not manage themselves.

    DjiXas an email got sent today to say that 11.32 is now current. You should be able to upgrade by logging into WHM and selecting:

    cpanel->Upgrade to Latest Version

    On a side note, Any good pages that give a good break down of the main differences between mysql 5.0, 5.1 and 5.5. Looking towards the features that may break scripts.
