Show and allow sorting by date modified / timestamp in File Manager [Case 3311]

One of the main reasons I'm using exTplorer (see extplorer.sourceforge.net) instead of cPanel's File Manager is because in the cPanel's File Manager I miss the ability to sort the files for date, because it misses a "date" column.

What about adding it?

I saw that there is a similar bug ticket opened here <<Link to old feature request system redacted>> but it's for a different thing. It won't allow to sort files for date.
It also erroneously cites two other tickets "marked as a duplicate of this bug" when they were probably asking the same as me, not the different thing described in that ticket.

Hello

I would like use the Filemanager included in Cpanel instead a FTP client. This tools seem to be very nice with full common feature like ability to set files permissions and files edition...

Anyway a big point appear totally missing: No date are displayed concerning files so we can not know when specific files was uploaded or modified...

Do you confirm ??? If yes something are planned for add this basic feature ??

Yes I can have SSH access but is little bit annoying to check that to another place....The goal was to do everything at same place and not to manage files to one place and check date to another...

Hope this will implement in a future release...

My feature request is that cPanel users should have the ability to view file creation/modification dates using cPanel File Manager as they would in an FTP program.

Dates of upload/modification badly missed in an otherwise good file manager section

H-Sphere, Plesk etc have it - cPanel should not be worse.

Hello,

One of our clients was struck into an issue when his FTP program showed wrong timestamp (-1h) and continued showing it while he has to test some cron jobs.

After a little investigation, he could find with the help of the logs generated by his script that it was due to the wrong time.

He asked us to for a way to check the timestamps of a file in cPanel. Ah, we are missing that in cPanel File Manager. I would request the timestamp column to be added in cPanel File Manager with the exiting columns like permissions.

Note that, SSH access is disabled for accounts, so no ls -l.

I hope that makes sense.

Had an pretty basic request from a client today for a feature in cPanel's web based File Manager, and he has a point when he said something along the line of "How's it gotten to version 3 without this feature?!".

With net speeds and browsers getting ever faster, the file manager is more of a viable and useful tool and will continue to be so in the future.

Please can we have the option to sort by date modified added within the file manager interface?

Okay, I never used the old File Manager much, partially because there was no date column and I had to click on each file to see the date.

Now, I get on the new File Manager every once in a while and and can't figure out how to find the datestamp at all, so I give up and switch to a remote client.

Do I have to turn date display 'on' somewhere for the cPanel File Manager?
Or, how do I see the date of the files in File Manager?

I have to agree with KJB. I was shocked to see that field completely absent from the File Manager. Considering most monitors are 20"+, there's plenty of horizontal real estate for additional information.

It's definitely time to add the last modified date.
