    Default User access control

One of our clients asked us if we ca limit acces to his cPanel interface from his home IP only ... searched for it, and found no way of obtaining this ... so I thought it would be a usefull feature ... specialy if we think about the root WHM account and root password for cPanel ...
Let me give some examples of the functionality I am refering to :

    - user X can only access cPanel from IP Y (of his own choice ... other users can still access it from anywhere) (this is actually what our client asked us)
    - root can only login into WHM from subnet Z (and resellers can still access WHM from anywhere) (this is what we would like ... even nicer would be if root password could be used in cPanel form the same subnets only)

Actually, this functionality is part of the new Security Policy functionality being introduced in version 11.25.1. Feel welcome to attend tomorrow's webinar to learn more: Webinars - cPanel Inc.

Lightbulb Important cPanel/WHM Version Number Designation Change

Please Note: Important cPanel/WHM Version Number Designation Change

As of July 28, 2010 the cPanel/WHM version number designations have been officially changed.

Version 11.25.1 is now designated 11.28 and version 11.25.2 is now designated 11.30.

These new changes were explained in some detail recently at the July 2010 - Quarterly Road map - Webinar direct from cPanel's PodCast Studio in Houston, Texas with speakers David Grega and Mario Rodriguez.

An official press release about these changes is forthcoming and can be accessed at this link as soon as it's made available to the Forum Team:
