500 error after apache update

    Default 500 error after apache update

    hello all.. hoping someone can tell me whats going on here. after I updated apache after yet another OS reinstall, I'm now getting the following errors.

    none of the sites will come up at all using the IP or the domain name. I can however access cpanel and whm using just the IP but not the domain name.

    also, can someone tell me what modules I should load with apache when updating in whm?

    I'm running CentOS 5 with the latest stable release of whm and cpanel. Also updated to PHP 5.23 and no PHPsuExec (second time around) did the same with it checked so I unchecked it and recompiled again.

    Are you sure Named is up and running?

    yes, I'm sure bind is running as well as apache. I also checked the httpd.conf file
    and everything is okay in there.

    now I'm not getting the 500 error but page not found. i'm really at a loss.

    any ideas?

    Try checking the error_log while browsing any site to see that where the Apache is looking for that file.

    i'm starting to believe it's an issue with my NOC and my IPs not resolving correctly. After I fight with them to believe theres something wrong, we'll see if this fixes it.

    Same problem here....out of the blue (and NO changes made to the server in a while, cpanel updates is off too)

    I'm using php 4.4.7 with phpsuexec enabled

    all I ended up doing was running the /scripts/fixrdns (iirc)
    contacted my NOC and had them put in the reverse dns for
    my nameserver's IPs and all began working for me.
