Account without domain

Hi all,
I was wondering if its possible to create accounts without attaching a domain along with it at the create screen.

Example, i want to create a user without a domain name by the name abcd

if it is possible how would i accive it?

You can use a bogus domain such as abcd.bogus.

If you do not assign an IP to the account, then you will have to enable the user to login to http://<sharedip>/~abcd/

You will want to disable all mail features.

Ah..
So for example if i have a user abcd
i can type the following in Domain: abcd.mydomain.com
that would automaticly create a subdomain in my account that holds mydomain.com ?
or would i have to create a subdomain there manually and redirect it to http://<my-ip>/~abcd ?

It would create a seperate account using abcd.mydomain.com. It is not the same as creating a subdomain through the cPanel of mydomain.com.

I have never tried creating an account using a subdomain of a bogus domain but I cannot think of a reason why it wouldn't work. The account name is what is used to connect to http://<sharedip>/~acct/
