Default Addon domain + Url forwarding error

Let's say domain1.com is main domain and domain2.com is added as a addon domain to subdomain.domain1.com.

And then the customer wants to point domain2.com in url forwarding in cPanel to http://domain1.com/folder/test/index.html or let's say http://whateverdomain.com/ ?

The customer tries this and it get's added in the .htaccess file that is created, but it will not work and we have to do this manually?

    Shouldn't this work?

If the customer wants the domain to go to another path on the account, is there a reason that path isn't selected when creating the addon domain in the first place? The addon domain does not have to go to /home/username/public_html/subdomain location, the path can be set during creation as /home/username/public_html/foldername/test/ instead for the path. I'm simply trying to understand the purpose of having an addon domain not already setup with the proper path and trying to change to redirect to another location.

Well, then we could park the domain on another folder to fix it, BUT when the customer wants to http://whateverdomain.com on another hosting company but it will not work.
    Getting error:

    The page isn't redirecting properly
Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

As we have seen over last months the .htaccess files for addon domains are created in wrong folder (public_html) and not the subdomain(addon folder).

Also on normal redirect all customers get an error about .htaccess file, but the redirect is still setup and working there.
This needs to get fixed asap.
