I have a big problem. I amde a not cleam install of cPanel. Everything is OK, bus I can not start Apache. httpd failes when trying to start. What can you tell me?

"httpd has failed, please contact the sysadmin."
What shall I do?

A little more information would be helpful.

SSH into your box and manually stop then start apache and then post any error messages you receive during startup attempt.

I have deleted /usr/local/apache directory and then I've pushed „Update Apache“ in WHM. After that apache started to work, but ir WHm windows i saw „httpd failed to start“. http://192.168.1.1/ is working, but account: http://192.168.1.1/~grego - not. Is the WHM Service Apache status window: „Apache... failed“. So I don't know what to do. In 2004-05-25 I will have to teach students how to use cPanel, and now I don't know how to start apache.
