Default Attemping to create 'perl5' directory

Upon SSH shell login today, it displayed this message:

    "Attempting to create directory /home/username/perl5"

And it does create the perl5 directory, and it's empty.

    Anybody know what it means?

(Note that the server has just auto updated to 11.30, I wonder if this is related?)

The perl5 directory is being used as a SPAM bot folder. Why did CPanel add it?

How precisely is a folder that is outside the public_html directory being used as a spam bot folder? There isn't any public access to that folder. Please clarify with further details on exactly what is happening.
