    Default Bad Redirect [moved]

    Hi folks,

I am a cPanel user (not a hosting admin) and I made a mistake adding a redirect. I created this one:

    /hob/* http://www.breadweb.net (temp)

Now, I can't remove it via cPanel. When I try to remove it, I get a successful confirmation, but it never goes away. Is there anything I can do, or that I can ask my hosting to do for me?

    Thanks!

Can you not even get into Cpanel? If thats the case, try resolving the IP of the server (tracert www.mydomain.com) then connect to the Cpanel port on that IP (http://the.ip.of.server:2082).

If its a case of you can get into Cpanel, just not remove the forwarder, then your host will likely have to do it for you.

Yes, cPanel is working fine and I just can't remove the redirect. Again, no error messages - just doesn't happen and its probably because of the asterisk mistake. My hosting is small time owned by a friend and he is unable to do it with his interface - I was hoping to give him some direction on how to do it manually.

Redirects are added to your .htaccess file in the root of the account. Open and remove it that way. Should look something like this:

    RedirectMatch permanent ^/hob/* http://www.breadweb.net

    Delete that line.
