Can the server send out text messages?

I have my server email setup in the config so I get emails when accounts are deleted, services fail, etc.

But there is an area for the pager number but it also mentions a cell phone in there too. When I put in my cell # i never got any texts.

Is there a way to do this?

You cannot just put in your cell number. You need to put in the e-mail address that will relay messages to your cell phone. Most major cell phone providers support this.

For example, if your mobile number was 1-555-555-5555 and your carrier was Virgin Mobile USA, you would enter 5555555555@vmobl.com and that would forward notifications to that cell phone in the form of a text message.

You will need to contact your cell phone provider for the e-mail address that corresponds to sending SMS messages to your cell phone.

However, you should be able to put that address into the pager field without any problems despite the fact it's a cell phone rather than a pager.
