Default Can't login to FTP server (strange authentication failure)

When I connected to FTP server, here what I've got
    220---------- Welcome to Pure-FTPd [TLS] ----------
220-You are user number 3 of 50 allowed.
220-Local time is now 23:34. Server port: 21.
220 You will be disconnected after 15 minutes of inactivity.
500 This security scheme is not implemented
500 This security scheme is not implemented
KERBEROS_V4 rejected as an authentication type
    Name (ftp.***:***): ****
331 User **** OK. Password required
    Password:
    530 Authentication failed, sorry
    Login failed.
    Remote system type is UNIX.
Using binary mode to transfer files.
    ftp>

I can't login, strange. And what the KERBEROS_V4 rejected as an authentication type means? And the 500 This security scheme is not implemented error message? I have reinstalling pure-ftpd then switch to proftpd, but I get the same result. I also upgrade cpanel to latest version but get the same result too. Running same scripts:
    /scripts/fixvaliases
    /scripts/rebuildproftpd
    /scripts/fixcommonproblem

But i get the same result too. Please kindly help. Thanks in advance.

That article focuses on kerberoes authentication for telnet and gssftpd under xinetd, not pure-ftpd/proftpd issues. I've got this issue on my system as well, odd.

Same as of this morning i've had 60 or so users ring up complaining they can't ftp into their sites... everything else is working fine tho...
Once you chance the passwords they can login again

Default I have the same issue but with all my custoemrs

I have the same issue of this thread.

But it is in all my accounts in all the reseller accounts on my dedicated server.

I can make 1000 ftp accounts in unlimited domain accoutns I have and it happens with every single one of them!

    How can this be resolved?

    Default I am now hairless

I have tried just about everything in every thread on this and it's STILL not working for user@domain.com FTP accounts. Just 530 every time. Switching to Pure doesn't work either.

    Default solution

    Well,

After much trying and asking around, I did get a support from cpanel themselves.
You will need to login in a browser not with: ftp://domainname.com but with: ftp://password:user@domainname.com.
The user you have created in the FTP management, for instance: blah (directory /blah) with pwd 1234 and space of 10mb, you will now go into a browser window and type in: ftp://1234:blah@domainname.com.

It worked for me, no errors and no becoming suddenly an anonymous user.
When you get to the second login (pops up) you will need to input user: blah (not blah@domainname.com) and pwd: 1234

I am having the same issue with all my accounts also. Tried everything in this thread. And unfortunately it hasn't fixed itself.

Default Way to use the user and pwd

When you put into IE (not mozilla, firefox or other browsers) ftp://user:pwd@domainname.com, you then get the login screen. At that moment you need to login with the user@domainname.com and pwd.
It works for me and my customers just fine now!
