Can't Password Protect a Folder

Hi...

This is the URL for the folder: http://www.mydomain.com/pages/brochures.htm

brochures.htm is in the "pages" folder

On all pages the URL is as above. In CPanel I have protected the folder, but I can still just click on the link and the page will show without the login popping up.

If I protect the folder for the whole site that works just fine, but I just want certain pages to be in a protected folder.

When I go into CPanel it shows the folder as protected but doesn't work.

Can anyone help?

Yes...everything was set up the way the instructions said.

Could the problem be that it's a folder WITHIN a folder?

Any chance you logged in before and haven't closed your browser yet?

When you go to the "web protect" in cpanel, does it show a padlock beside the protected folder?
