    If you are a reseller, simply login to the cPanel account (all WHM Reseller accounts are also cPanel accounts) and change your password there.

    If you are root, simply go to WHM -> Server Configuration -> Change Root Password

    Exclamation Change Root Password - Does NOT change

    I have a VPS and when I try to change my WHM Root Password, I get

    The password for root has been changed.
    Changing password for root
    Password for root has been changed
    Updating ftp passwords for root
    Ftp password files updated.
    Ftp vhost passwords synced

    The following service passwords were changed: mail , system , ftp.
    BUT the password does NOT change.

    EXAMPLE: This happens when I try to change the password FROM abc123 TO abc123abc123.
    The new password is 2 times the old one.
    BUT, I am still able to log in with just abc123 despite a successful message.

    What could be the reason?

    Is this a BUG which is making the WHM think that abc123 = abc123abc123?

    The password does change if I use a new password like, xyz123xyz123. With this new password, if I just try xyz123, it does NOT work, but xyz123xyz123 works.
    This means WHM knows xyz123 != xyz123xyz123
