Changing Premission Settings

Hi everyone,
I hope all are doing well today. I am new to the forum and hope that I may be of help in the future. Right now I have a question I hope some one viewing here can help me with. I was instructed to change the permissions for certain files to "777" by the software designer but I need to know is'nt it true with cPanel that that Permission would be"755" instead. The reason being that i cannot seem to get "javaScript" to work on this one particular site index.php on my cPanel Accelerated account. and think that maybe the permissions are set incorrectly. Can anyone help me? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I just noticed that you are running 777 as a permission, you will almost always NOT want to do this. Also for your particular issue I would recommend submitting a ticket to help with the troubleshooting process as we may need to get a closer look at your system. 777 permission is not similar to 755. Both are different. Some application folders may require 777 permissions to function properly. If suPHP is enabled on your server then folders having 777 permissions will not work. In that case 755 permissions is equivalent to 777 permissions.

Hi all,
I would like to know if anyone can tell me how to tell if Javascript is enabled at my cPanel account. If it is disabled how do I get it enabled?

You do not need to make any changes in cPanel to enable it. JavaScript must be supported by end user browser.
