Configure backup

I am trying to use the WHM backup system and it doesn't seem to save my settings.
When I first used it 2 days ago I selected a full back up of all sites to be sent to a remote server.
I realised that I had not enough disk space on that second server and decided to backup only batabases (per account) and excluded 2 big accounts.
This morning I see that these new settings were not taken into account.
Looking at the log I saw that the backup system backed up full accounts as previously instead of databases only.
The full backup failed then.

I disabled "Backup Accounts" but it doesn't keep the setting.
"Backup sql databases" is enabled (per account only).

What am I doing wrong to backup only databases from whm?

Hello

When you enable "Remote FTP" backups, the only option is to backup the entire accounts. Backing up just the databases will only function when the standard backup option is enabled.

Thanks for the explanation.
So I disabled the remote and tested the backup.
I receive a mail saying "backup complete" and I check in /backup/cpbackup/daily and /backup/cpbackup/weekly, and I only find one file "cpbackupstatus.cfg" with last_run_time=1314180118 inside.
Where are located the .sql files?
I thought I would find them in /backup/cpbackup/daily and I would manage to send the folder to my remote server with a cron job everyday.

In /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log I find this:

The entire MySQL directory should be available if you have enabled "Per Account and Entire MySQL Directory" for the "Backup SQL Databases" option. The standard location for the archive is:

/backup/cpbackup/daily/dirs/_var_lib_mysql_.tar.gz

If the backup is not completing successfully, you can check the backup logs within:

/usr/local/cpanel/logs/cpbackup/

Dirs are not created in /backup/cpbackup/daily/ so I submitted a support ticket.

The result of the ticket was that the "Backup Accounts" option needed to be enabled in order to have databases backed up on a per account level.

Upon additional testing, if it's just the /var/lib/mysql directory you want backed up in it's entirety, you can enable "Backup Configuration Files" and "Per Account and Entire MySQL Directory". This will allow you to obtain a copy of the MySQL directory without backing up the accounts.
