Confused :S

Hi,

Currently a reseller and one of the accounts (mine) has the following configuration;

Domain registered and parked at 123-reg.com
nameservers pointing to reseller hosting
mx record pointing to reseller hosting

As it's pretty limited regarding DNS changes i'm wondering if the following would be possible;

Domain still at 123-reg.com
2 MX records, 1 pointing to my exchange server, 2 pointing to reseller hosting
meaning if my exchange server is down, email will go to reseller hosting.
i'd need a DNS A record making mail.domain.com point to my exchange server, yet i'd still like domain.com hosted at reseller hosting.

Hope this makes sense, just trying to get my head around how to do all of this.

That would work fine, however you would want to setup the second server a secondary email server.

If i were to change the nameservers back to 123-reg, how would i point the main website and a mx record at my account (on the reseller hosting)?

the reseller hosting only has 1 dedicated ip?

acutally, thinking about it. An easier solution would be to just create a DNS A record for mail.domain.com to point to ip.ip.ip.ip

Any idea how to do this? the zones look a nightmare!
