    Unhappy Could not connect to the database, see error message below. Can't connect to local My

    So when i tray to log in i get this error

    Could not connect to the database, see error message below.
    Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)

    If you're sure MySQL is up and running, then you might double check those settings in the image to be sure they are correct. If you're not the Administrator of the server you might want to contact your host to ask about your settings to be sure they are right.

    MySQL is up and running? Are you sure your using the correct option for the database in that image?

    Are you sure it is a local MySQL server?
    Maybe you should connect to a dedicated remote database server?

    Your host is the one to be asking for assistance with this sort of thing. They can tell you exactly how the server is setup and the options you should be selecting in the image you've posted above.

    Short of that, what other options are listed in the "database type" setting shown in your image?
