    Default cp account copy

I have a VPS cpanel server and a new dedicated cpanel server. Other than that obvious difference versions are the same. Both are in the same data center.

Attempting to initiate a cpanel account copy at the new server. I consistently receive this error:

Connecting to Remote Server Failed: Unable to connect to xxx.xxx.xxx.xx:<port>: Bad file descriptor

I'm pretty new with cPanel... any help surely appreciated.

When you're SSH'd into the destination server (the server you are copying the account to), can you then SSH from the destination server to the source server (the server you are copying the account from)?

Being able to SSH from your workstation to both servers is relatively irrelevant in this situation. What needs to happen is the ability for the one server to SSH to the other server.

No could not. also couldn't ping the server either.

Reversed the roles. Could not ssh or ping from source to destination either.

Pretty much a mute point now. Fortunately there are not many accounts to move and I've about finished it manually.

    Thanks

As a side note, I had this same problem and this thread reminded me what the issue was....

The old server has SSH running on an alternate port (like 1234) but my iptables firewall on the new server did not have the port configured to allow it outbound.

I just had to add port 1234 outbound on the new server, and it works!
