    Question is cPanel distributed?

Is the platform distributed? I can see how WHM manages 'multiple' servers, but I'm curious - Can services be split accross servers? are the servers ware of the other servers and their services? Can functions be split out, and recovered to other servers in the case of cPanel server failure?

    Thanks so much in advance,

There is DNS clustering option available in cpanel. When clustered with another server, if one server goes down, teh sites will be served by the other dns server involved in clustering.

What about mail? web? Do people typically just put each of these services on a separate cpanel box?

or do people typically combine them all on one box, and just grow one cpanel server at a time?

Cna multiple cPanels be managed centrally?

Typically, people keep everything self-contained into a single physical server and grow 1 entire cPanel server at a time.

cPanel/WHM currently doesn't come with any tools to manage multiple servers centrally - however the APIs now exist to build a tool that does that.

It can be done but trust me it takes alot of work.. We are using a fully clustered setup now
