    Default Cpanel Installation With CentOS

    Should I install CentOS3.4 or CentOS3.5?
    Did cpanel support CentOS3.5 yet?

I had some issues with cpanel and bind. Then support from datacenter told me that they will install centos 3.4 (I've upgrade it now to 3.5).

It works fine with CentOS v4. Any bind problems mentioned will be down to local configuration problems and are easily resolved.

Can you tell me CentOS v4.0 and CentOS v4.1 which one is better?

From a cPanel perspective it probably makes little difference, so you may as well go for v4.1, just remember that it's quite a new OS.

I'll stay away from v4.1, for now. Last week, we have tried this version on a new server and it is still buggy and need more time to mature.

one nice reason to use centos 4.x is the 2.6 kernel has resolved the high io wait issues that plagued the 2.4 kernels used in the RHEL/centos 3 versions

There is some hardware compatiability issues with the 2.6 kernel that the 2.4 did not have so I would check to make sure your hardware is compatiable and if so use centos 4.x
