cPanel/WHM access and IP issue
Request I have a couple of issues here and expect to get responses only from experts. Case Study A couple of months ago I started a project. This project is under-development, I had to upload more then 250 files each day and delete files those were uploaded on previous day. Then after few days (3-4 days) while I was uploading few-hundreds of files daily and deleting via FTP (Filezilla); FTP program showed the following status saying that it cannot connect to the server. Server was not being able to connect. I logged in my cpanel through to find if there is any different issue. There was nothing different. cPanel could be accessed through all above ways. Then I changed my FTP program and used different versions of FTPs but the result was same: "Connection timed out" "Could not connect to server" I used a different hostname with the FTP, the site was not related with my server eg: from-the-aliens-web-site.com (suppose this website exists) and used dummy username and password this time FTP said that the server is not being able to authenticate the user I intentionally used dummy user and password to other's server and FTP did responed this time and I concluded that this was not the problem of FTP. Then I started consulting with people who tells themself that they are experienced. But this was a new issue for them because in their life they didn't uploaded some-hundreds of files daily and deleted the older ones. Then after that I started manually uploading and deleting files with lots of energy because its important. Later, this was bothering hence I gave the cPanel's user and password to my staff, for all those uploads and downloads. She some times forgets cPanels password (its very complex). Today, I also forget the password for 2 time and used the correct password at third attempt but cPanel didn't opened. Then I deleted cookes of my browser, cleared history and cache too; and tried to access my cPanel I used all web-browsers IE 6 , 7 and 8 Opera and Mozilla Firefox there was not any improvement. Then I tried to open website hosted on my server. http://www.website.com >> it didn't opened too. then tried to open website on same server http://www.secondwebsiteonsameserver.com >> it didn't opened ERRORI didn't left anything that I knew like : but couldn't solve. Then tried to open website which is not on my server http://www.differentwebsite.com >> it opened Then tried to open cPanel of that site http://www.differentwebsite.com/cpanel >> the dialogue box appears here I thought that my server may be down hence used my mobile (via GPRS) to view sites on my server, they opened. Then I thought they might be from server's cache and used the site http://www.hyperspin.com/ to monitor my server. It successfully showed positive result (server is not down). I used proxy site to open my website and it opened. Now I concluded that My IP has been banded by server. I don't know if this is real but I guess it's due to all those heavy jobs with cPanel. Problem 1: why am I not being able to upload files? Reason? solution? Problem 2: why website from my server didn't opened in my IP? reason? solution? is this due to Issue with IP or the way I used cPanel/Whm? I'll appreciate them who will carefully investigate on my problem. Last edited by anupofuniverse; 09-02-2008 at 03:25 AM. Reason: Spell Check |

Thank you Infopro
![]() I've got one problem solved for uploading many files at once by compressing it and unpacking it on server. But how will I be able to do it if I'm not being able to access cPanel? Quote:
