    Default Custom Nameservers

This is gonna be a long question..

Basically I am tryig to do my own nameservers with my domain.

    ns1.mydomain.net
    ns2.mydomain.net

I've successfully done everything in whm.

    Assigned Nameserver Ips
    Ip Nameserver
    216.6.xx.xx ns1.mydomain.net
    216.6.xx.xx ns2.mydomain.net

( I've replaced the last .IP with xx to retain privacy )

I've also read up on some guide to request for REVERSE DNS with my hosting provider and they have replied to my email saying "
Should be all set now, please be patient while the changes progogate. "

It has been 1 day now, I've tried to dns the IP i allocated to my nameserver and it does get resolved.

    * Dns resolved 216.6.xxx.xx to ns1.mydomain.net

But when I tried to dns ns1.mydomain.net it does not get resolved to 216.6.xxx.xx

So I am wondering if I did anything WRONG ? Or I just have to wait longer for the whole dns thing to propogate properly.

I've tried adding the nameservers OR the IP address I allocated to my nameservers into my domain registrar but it doesnt work. It gives me this error message

    ERROR:
We were unable to add the name server 216.6.xxx.xx for mydomain.net. Please try syncing your name servers with the registry and then try again.

So please enlighten or help me out. Thanks.

    Mod can close this thread.

    problem resolved.

SOLUTION: The dns propogation was fast. All i needed was to ADD/REGISTER my custom name server with my registrar BEFORE I am allowed to add it as a nameserver.

You can still do it before it propagates, in case you want to test something before actually making the change. You just need to do it manually instead of having it automatically set/detect it.
