    Default DNs only question

    Hey all,

we just recently setup cpanel DNS only edition and added it to the cluster. when i do a /etc/init.d/named status it only shows 8 records on the cpanel DNS server. but when i do a /etc/init.d/named status on the cpanel server it shows 570. Why the difference?

am i wrong in thinking that cpanel will sync all dns entries to the new dns only edition of cpanel?

is there anyway i can force the sync of records?

    *bump*

    anyone?

as an update to this... as the users register new domain names, they are being created on the new cpanel dns server... but the old records have not moved over yet.

First, ensure that you have set up cPanel/WHM server to synchronize with the DNS-Only server.

You can force a synchronization by going to the DNS Functions of the WHM interface and clicking on "Synchronize DNS Records." You can then select to synchronize all DNS records, a single record etc.

It sounds like you just never synced them, you can do this manually to update it with all the missing records.
