DNS Problems

I am using a virtual-server package and confused about creating my own name servers.
The virtual server already has its own name servers:
ns3.secureserver.net
ns4.secureserver.net

Do I have to create my own name servers? I have 5 web sites on one ip.

I have left the name servers alone.

For some reason my email, of which I have created email acoounts and forwarders, doesn't function.

When I send an email to my server I get the following message with the returned email:

This is the Postfix program at host mxo5.broadbandsupport.net.

I'm sorry to have to inform you that your message could not
be delivered to one or more recipients. It's attached below.

For further assistance, please send mail to <postmaster>

If you do so, please include this problem report. You can
delete your own text from the attached returned message.

If you are using a virtual-server package, you probably shouldn't be posting here, but rather seek support with your host.

That said...

553 Relay Denied Errors usually imply the following:

1. You are trying to send email to a domain that is not recognized/handled by the server
2. You are trying to relay email through this server, but haven't authenticated

I would guess that it's simply due to not being authenticated. Most ISPs/Hosts require you to identify yourself to the email server by on of the following:

1. POP before SMTP. This means simply that you check your email before sending
2. Authenticate via SMTP, meaning you send your login and password when you attempt to send

If you are using an email client such as MS Outlook, for example, you can edit the advanced preferences, and check the box that says something like "my server requires authentication to send email". I don't remember the exact wording, but enable it.
