    Default Dreamweaver ftp problem

    Hi there,

I am having problems with remotly accessing my account through dreamweaver.

I am typing in all my details correctly. It was working 2 days ago and i've reinstalled dreamweaver and it still doesn't log in.

I have also tried with WSftp 9 and it cant log in either.

    I can't connect with host.

I'm using the ftp name of my server: ftp.domain.com

    Could anyone help?
    Thanks heaps

    1. is the domain resolving correctly to the server ?
    2. try just using domin.com or the ip address
    3. does dreamweaver req a path (some ftp clients do) /public_html or /www
    4. is your personal firewall blocking access??

You should also ask your web hosting provider such questions as they are in the best place to help you.

Having vast amount of exp. with dreamweaver there is an FTP log mode you can turn on. Do that see what it says.

If your problem is the fact that dreamweaver nor your ftp client can list the folders your problem is partly on your end and the webhosts, I will explain more about that if you find your exact problem. And tell us what it is.

    Hi there,

Thanks for every1s help. Been away from the computer but this is what i have found.

    To dalem

I don't understand what domain resolving means. sorry.

I have tried just using the domain address. Should i use my IP or the websites. if the websites, how would i find that out.

I have the path as public_html and it worked before

Norton has dreamweaver through the program list.

    To Chirpy

Thanks, i haven't been able to get back to them but i will.

    To pshepperd

Hi, I have turned on FTP log mode and there is nothing in the log.

The problem is that it can't login.

The last thing i did before dreamweaver stopped working was a ftp transfer through the cmd mode. It wont let me do that either now.

Thanks guys i really appreciate this.

If it says authentication failure you will have to contact your hosting provider, try toggleing on or off passive frp, and do not use the "firewall" check box. if you use your account username, not necessarily your email and password it should work.

    Default Problems when uploading

I was wondering why when I try to upload via dreamweaver it doesn´t here is the dreamweavers log:

    < 220-Local time is now 22:10. Server port: 21.

    > CWD /www/corporativo
    < 250 OK. Current directory is /www/corporativo
    > PWD
    < 257 "/www/corporativo" is your current location

The file "/www/corporativo/paquetes.shtml" was skipped because the old remote file could not be deleted.

Also if I login with any ftp client it works fine, does anybody has any idea?

    Thanks
