    Default Exim has failed

I am having problems with Exim in WHM. Service status says exim failed.

Restarting exim results in this message:

    exim status

    mailnull 37603 0.0 0.8 4804 4012 p0- S Fri04AM 0:38.08 /usr/bin/perl /usr/local/cpanel/bin/eximstats
    root 96939 0.0 0.4 2312 1696 ?? S 6:12PM 0:00.01 antirelayd (perl)
    root 96947 5.7 3.7 18560 18016 ?? Ss 6:12PM 0:00.66 /usr/bin/spamd -d (perl)

exim has failed, please contact the sysadmin.

Could this be a result of changes I did to the nameservers? If not, what could be other possible reasons for this failure and how can I solve this problem?

    Thanks in advance!

What does it say in your exim log files when you restart it?
    /var/log/exim_mainlog (on Linux)

I am still new to this topic. How can I view /var/log/exim_mainlog? Do I need to SSH into that dir with a program like Putty or can I view the logs at CPanel? I am running FreeBSD 5.2 on the server.

    Thanks for your help!

I found the mainlog at var/log/exim/mainlog but for some reason I don't seem to have read permission although I logged in as the admin.... this is really strange........

Where can I change read permissions? Do you think that my host has disabled read permission?

    Thanks for your help

Has your host provided any help here? The "chmod" command will allow you to change permissions but make sure you know what the current set is before changing. Short tutorial: http://catcode.com/teachmod/
Just caution you to go slow here so as not to make matters worse.

Indeed. "Where can I change read permissions? Do you think that my host has disabled read permission?" would suggest that you're not logged in as the root account.

    Hello,

Download libdb2.so.3 from renowned site then create a symbolic link:
    ln -s libdb2.so.3 libdb.so.3
    update exim
    /scripts/exim4
    restart exim:
    /etc/rc.d/init.d/exim restart

    This will solve your problem.

    Vivek.

With me the service is up and the server does seem to be sending out-bound emails.

However, I still have a number of emails stuck in the mail que and won't send:

They are all addressed to root.

When I click on 'deliver now' I get the following error message:

    Message 1LxWIL-0003Ff-S6 is not frozen
    delivering 1LxWIL-0003Ff-S6
    LOG: MAIN PANIC
User 0 set for local_delivery transport is on the never_users list
    LOG: MAIN
    == root@localhost.localdomain R=localuser T=local_delivery defer (-29): User 0 set for local_delivery transport is on the never_users list
    Any idea?
