    Talking Extra files

    Hey,

I was wondering - I have noticed that in the FTP Manager, there is a lot of files including .trash, etc, public_ftp and so on. Do we really need these files or can they be deleted?

Thanks for your time and help!

public_ftp is generally used for anonymous FTP, it doesn't take up any noticeable space if you don't use it and its probably a good idea just to leave it where it is.

As for the rest, the .trash is for those that use the filemanager. If you delete this you may run into problems using that feature. Again, I advise against deleting this folder, but regularly remove the files within.

etc tmp mail and the rest are best left where they are. These are used for anything from email to statsistic programs such as webalizer, awstats, etc.

Good rule of thumb is, if you set up an account, and those folders are there. They are best left where they are. No harm done.
