    Default General login problem

    Dear All,

Currently I am looking at getting a whm/cpanel reseller although someone has let me trial their hosting although I can access it from home although not at work. We have a firewall at work although the server can be accessed via ftp at work as well as being able to see the website. The ftp connects through the port 2082 although ie and firefox cannot load it as a standard page. Just wondering what the problem could be? Possibly the firewall needs ports opened?

    Thanks

you need to allow access on your firewall on port 2086 and 2087 (SSL) to get access to WHM.
for cpanel access, it's 2082 and 2083 for SSL

    it's as simple as that.

Thanks, but I knew which ports it used because I can access it from home, though my friend cannot access it at work. So presume it just needs the ports openning, although he had used ftp at his work which, for some reason, connects through port 2082, although it doesn't work for a standard login, eg: http://hostname.com:2082/. Any ideas, or just try and get the ports opened.

    Thanks
