Help, I am clueless about publishing my site

Hi, I apologize in advance for my complete cluelessness but I need some basic help getting a site up. I am totally new to cpanel and to having a website hosted and have no idea how to materialize the content I have published to a set of files which now reside in the webdisk folder. I did manage to set up that and it appears to have permitted me to copy into it the file sets I should require for the website I have created. I am trying to test out a single home page. Can anyone with half a clue shed some light on what the steps are in order to go from publishing the site or pages I created in web design software (I did publish this locally with the intention of copying the folders into webdisk) to actually getting to the point where I can see the site up and running by typing in www.mywebsitedomainname.com. Where do the files need to go exactly and can this be achieved without FTP?

Hi,
This forum is mainly for web hosting company's running cpanel, so you should contact your hosting provider for assistance. However, you need to put your files that you want published into your /public_html folder. More info about cpanel can be found here: http://www.cpanel.net/support/docs/11/cpanel/

Yeah what kernow said....if you want a page to show up when you go to www.mywebsitedomain.com, title it "index.html" or .php, etc. The index name is the "default" page that shows. And place it in public_html.

You can also use the file manager to do this real easy.
