Help with uploading html code on cpanel file manager

Hi I'm using Cpanel through hostgator along with plesk sitebuilder. Was wondering if someone could tell me how I could save a html code to an index.php file on file manager. I want it situated on the left margin but don't know where to put the code. It won't let me do it on plesk as it is a background but I know I can access it somewhere in cpanel file manager. I have attempted to do the html code editor on file manager but when I check my website it aint there. Thanks for your hel in advance, it's been two weeks since I've been trying and it's driving me crazy

Generally, you will find index.php file inside public_html directory of File Manager.
