Hostname in shared enviroment

Hello

I want to ask if i buy a dedicated server for shared hosting what hostname do i use?

It must be a valid domain as i don't want to host my homepage there?

When i am going to order the cpanel license i must add that info there also.

You can use any name you want, such as server1.yourdomain.com

Usually you want to make it anonymous so your reseller's customers don't see your name.

The server's current hostname. This value should be a fully qualified domain name and will need to resolve properly. Changing this value does not set the server's current hostname.
To change the server's current hostname, use the Hostname function under Networking Setup.

But it seems that cpanel use this domain and adds some info in tha server....

I was add a name server like this:

server.myname.com

and to that server

server2.myname.com

And it seems not to work...

Make sure you have created A record entry for server record in your server. A record should point to the IP address of your dedicated server.
