    Default How can i ban an ip?

    Hi,

    i find an ip link hundreds of linking on my server with the same website,

    how can i ban the ip?

    1.i find the load of my server is high.


    2.and i check the Apache Status from whm,

    and i find an ip link the admin area of certain website,

    so,i think there may be a user of the ip is testing the password of the website.


    3.i want to ban the user of the ip and prevent he to test anymore.

    Well it sounds like your describing a brute force attack. If you have the ConfigServer Security & Firewall link in your plugins section just do this.

    Click on the ConfigServer Security & Firewall link.
    Then on the Firewall Deny IP's button
    Just add the IP to the list and click change.

    Just remember that blocking his ip will not stop hiim from coming in under any other ip address. Most "hackers" know how to come in from other ips and will do so soon after being blocked.
