OK I can ssh in and see that there are files there. How can I download these files?
You need an ftp program that supports ftp over ssh. I use cuteftp pro.

Is that free byu chance? I would like to use a nice one, but dont really feel the need to pay for one.
Otherwise you can just copy the files into a directory you have ftp access/web access to and dl it that way too I guess.

Use WinSCP - open source and includes putty interface.
