    Default How to create backup?

I know how to set up back up and get that made at the end of every day. But what about if I want to back up data right now?

Also I must have set up the back up incorrectly because no back up is being made.

    The documentation might be helpful:
    Backups - cPanel Documentation

But you will need to have backups enabled and working properly. Docs to setup backups are here:
    Configure Backup - cPanel Documentation

Make sure that you have Backup Accounts enabled in Home » Backup » Configure Backup, or your accounts will not be backed up. This is explained in the documentation Infopro linked to, but frequently overlooked.

You can start a backup at any time by running this command as root:

    Code:
    # /scripts/cpbackup --force
If you install the cronconfig plugin, in Home » cPanel » Manage Plugins, then log out of the WebHost Manager and log back in, you will see a new menu item: Home » Plugins » Configure cPanel Cron Times. This will let you set the time of day that the cPanel backup system runs. Most administrators choose to run it late at night, because it can generate some server load.

I think I did it right the first time.

    I got files like:
    Code:
    hostgrea.tar.gz
    newgames.tar.gz
which like cpmove files can restore the whole account.

However, now if I run /scripts/cpbackup --force the back up finish so quickly and all I see in the directory is
    Code:
    root@host [/backup/cpbackup/weekly/files]# ls -la
    total 404
    drwx------ 2 root root 4096 Jan 4 04:03 ./
    drwx--x--x 4 root root 4096 Jan 4 04:04 ../

It looks like you have incremental backups enabled. Incremental backups only back up what has changed since an initial backup. If nothing has changed in an account, the process will finish very quickly.
