how do you configure the file manager to display.....?

i am a new user and just registered a domain, and am just starting to learn about web hosting..anyway how can i upload an html file in cpanel (file manager, i think) so thats the first thing a person sees when they just enter my domain name (ex: www.mydomain.com)....anyone willing to helP?
