    Default How to kill dovecot andhow to tune up mysql+php? (i´m newbie)

    My system is CenOS x86_64, with 1,5GB Ram and Two processors (2x 3.2GHz).

    I not use dovecot at all, how can i kill it safely? (i tryed "service dovecot stop" but it autostarts in a few minutes).

    At the same time my CPU usage is high:
    top - 19:04:08 up 18:58, 1 user, load average: 0.83, 0.95, 0.88
    Processes into top sorted by cpu and i identified that "mysqld" and "php" are using lot of cpu.
    How can i tune configs safely?

    My system will run ONLY wordpress blogs, so i not need many things offered by cPanel i deactivated stats programs to try to save cpu+ram.
    What is process "spamd"? Is usefull?
    What about process "leechprotect", is usefull?

    How to deactivate previous processes (because i think that i not need them).

    All advice to setup correctly the server and finetuning are welcomed, from apache, php, mysql, etc... since my requirements are simple, only to run wordpress blogs.

    Thanks.

    Default Re: How to kill dovecot andhow to tune up mysql+php? (i´m newbie)

    I could stop davecot finally using WHM: Service Configuration --> Service Manager
    And disabled many stuff that i not will use.

    Spamd = SpamAssasin
    LeechProtect = Feature of Cpanel

    I finetune a little mysql with mysqltunner perl script, i followed advices.

    I changed from suPHP to FastCgi and seems that cpu lowered a little.
