    Default httpd processes...

I have two servers where httpd processes are owned by root. As far as I can tell, there is always only one process running. BUT, I have another server where it is owned by nobody. And there are always many processes running. Can someone tell me why it is different?

    Thank you for your time!

Are you looking at them in their thread? The first (parent) httpd process should always run as root, the children should run as nobody. Use:

ps axfu to see it threaded and displaying the user ID.

Thanks very much for that command! Yea, that is what's happening.
