i know this probably has been asked but how do i replace the index page that people visit instead of seeing those folders i want them too see links and a normal website plz help

never mind about that previous question i got it sorry for double posting now now i only need help on making links on my index page like to images etc do i put like <a href="menu.html">your text</a> in the index page right?????? to make a link to one of my other pages
