Ubuntu is not a support disto. You would be better off using one of the most commonly used distro's, or at least a Redhat based one. CentOS is an excellent base, using it on 3 servers.

Ubuntu is not used for havy hosting. Sorry if I dissapoint you. It is a young distro with many many problems, far from hosting.

Maybe you like it for the brand but ...

I dont like Fedora for example, but I use it for hosting with cPanel. It does the job well.
