JavaScript dose not work

Hi Everyone.
I hope you all are doing fine today. I am new to this forum. I am in need of your help and advice. the problem I am having is that I cannot get javascript code to work on my web pages. Example: Ihave been trying to put a date/time javascript in my index.php without success. I copy and paste the code into the source page of the index.php by using the wysiwyg editor provided by cPanel "Legacy File Manager". I see the date/time script go ito the page. When I switch back to the design page to view the date/time application, it is not there and most of the date/time javascript has been eliminated from the source code page. I know it is not the code because it works when used on other peoples computers. I am trying now to find out if it is a problem or a setting at my cPanel or if it is possible for my PC to be the cause of this problem, like maybe a incorrect setting or missing program.
I am useing Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit OS
Can anyone help me? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank You
Tony S.

One more question how are you able to tell if javascript is enabled on your cPanel wysiwyg editor tool bar? I can't seem to find a icon for it there also. If it is disabled how would I get activated?

Thank you,
tony S.
