Looks like you have a couple of runaway cPanel processes (/usr/local/cpanel/bin/rebuild_sprites)

    run

    killall -9 rebuild_sprites

    and then /scripts/upcp --force

Thanks, I ran the commands. I'm getting a message about cpanel updating

    login as: root
    root@72.36.194.42's password:
    Last login: Thu May 3 17:58:10 2007 from cblmdm72-240-194-151.buckeyecom.net
    root@server1 [~]# killall -9 rebuild_sprites
    root@server1 [~]# /scripts/upcp --force
cPanel Update (upcp) is already running. Please wait for the previous upcp to complete, or kill off all upcp processes and try again. You may wish to use '--force' at /scripts/upcp line 45.

loads that high you may want to ps and kill all the upcp related processes ..wait for load to go down and the do a /scripts/upcp --force
Just keeping my "eye" on things....

I have been waiting all day, it's now 9:30 PM, 18 hours of high load.

    Main >> Server Status >> CPU/Memory/MySQL Usage

    Code:
User Domain %CPU %MEM Mysql Processes
    root 45.97 15.11 2.0

Sorry for the misunderstanding I took your previous post as if I should wait for the server load to go down. I’m still learning Linux and server security.
