Name Server Assigned IP

When I click on Nameserver IPs and add a nameserver, it is automatically assigned with an IP address. Now, I want to modify that IP address. What file must I edit and where is it located? I tried editing the tertiary and fourth option to /etc/resolv.conf but had no effect.
