New website setup how-to

I can't grasp what should be obvious. I've submitted multiple support tickets-- gone through 4 online chats --telephoned Ace for this issue.

***** I'm NOT getting support from AceHost *****

Nobody seems to be able to help me setup a simple domain.

Maybe someone here can help:

I have a basic (5 domain) account with AceHost

I registered a domain @ GoDaddy and transferred the name server to AceHost with success. Allowed 48 hours to propagate.

From the cPanel:

1. I "Add Domain"
- specify the xxx.com
- indicated the directory = /public_html/xxx
(where xxx = the domain name)
- indicated the password
2. The Ace system "parks" the domain. Evidenced by
looking at the "Park Domain"
3. this makes no sense. this is NOT a parked domain.
I remove the "parked domain" using cPanel "parked
domain"
4. it removes the park alright. in-fact it wipes out the
entire domain.
5. If I DON'T remove the parked domain -- I get an "error
reading page" from the browser.

Anybody have any thoughts?

I would suggest moving to a different hosting provider. This is not their support forum and their lack of help is probably indicative of what you're going to face from them in the future.

Sounds like he already knows that and is hoping to get help here.


It sounds like your system isn't working right. You will need to have someone look at it to see if it's working right, and if not, you will need to have ace-host fix it.
