Default Offering a redirect on a password directory

    Dear cpanel,
My webhost Midphase suggested I contact this forum for advice, seeing as it uses cpanel for the configuration of websites. I have a password protected directory on my website, and would like to redirect with .htaccess any bad password requests to my guestbook website. So the first question is, do I put the .htaccess file in the password protected directory, or the directory that isn't password protected that is its parent? The second is what would I enter the .htaccess file that would detect if someone tried to enter it with the wrong password where to send them?

    Thank you.

    Smile I found my answer

    I found a website:
    http://www.cgiextremes.com/extras/Ti.../htaccess.html

which told me to edit the website htaccess file for the password protected directory. I could just point people with the
    AuthName variable. Thank you.
