    Default Permissions

Hello, I'm still quite new to Cpanel but have been using it now for about two months.

Currently I'm setting up my new website and would like to ask how I can prevent Browser Grabbers from copying my files.

Can this be done by altering the permissions in file manager?

No, file permissions don't have have anything to do with that ...

You will want to look at "Leech Protection" and "Hotlink Protection"

Both are similar but basically only allow your files to be pulled when the request is initiated from your own web site.

Anyone who really wants it can defeat these but you will stop the bulk of the random bots and such out there harvesting content or people using up your bandwidth from direct hotlinking.

There is no actual physical way you can stop someone entirely outside of turning off your web server and giving it no access to the world which sort of defeats the point of having a web site but you can do plenty to make it more "resistant" to misuse and abuse.
