Problem with outside access

Hello everyone,

I recently installed CentOS fresh on a server and proceeded to install cpanel on it soon after. Everything seemed to be working fine at first. I got into whm through port 2087 no problem from the local machine. I managed to configure everything without a hitch.

The problem is that for some reason, I cannot access certain ports from the outside. After trying to telnet different ports that I was told to have open in the firewall (and yes, I have checked and re-checked to make sure all the necessary ports are open), I found that the ones that can't connect are port 80, 2082, 2083,2086 and 2087. Obviously, these are all crucial in managing a cpanel server. My question is, what could be causing this?

Any help or insight into this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
~Thorlax

P.S.
Another thing that may be helpful to know is that when I ssh from outside, it takes a remarkably long amount of time to get into it after I have typed in the password. Sometimes as long as 90 seconds. However, once I get in there are no problems.
Is your server housed at a data center or are you currently hosting it on a connection from your home/office?

What are you using as a firewall? Are you sure you've opened the *incoming* ports and not the *outgoing* ports? For instance if you use CSF (ConfigServerFirewall) you can block incoming and outgoing...

Everything is fixed now. It turns out that I just had the CentOS firewall enabled. Didn't even think to look there. Thank you the suggestions.
