Raw Server logs [moved]

I want to review my Raw Server logs. I have found the area
on our Cpanel to get them. I noticed they are a .gz file but
winzip can handle that.

What I am confused about is when extracted, the file is
a .COM (dos like application). I have tried to excute this
file but get told it is to large to fit into memory.

How can I review my raw server logs?

You really ought to ask your hosting provider such questions.

Winzip doesn't support tarballs, you'll need to use something else, such as PowerArchiver which does. The file is also just the domain name, which is probably why it appears to have a .com extension (you're thinking windows, not linux which is why you're confused) and the file itself is a text file with Linux line-feeds.

The best way to view them is with a good text editor program like CuteHTML. It treats windows and linux return characters the same.

Like Chirpy said, all log files are just called the domain it came from, so you will have .com, .net, and so on files. Windows thinks .com is a dos program and tries to execute it. You need to just open it with a text editor program.

Or just rename the file... to domain.com.txt ... that's what i'm doing

Also, to open this kind of compressed file, winrar do the job!
